What makes a good drum plugin?

So I know that multi-sampling is the big thing about plugins like AD2. But what else is important? For example, the velocity curves on AD2 seem way way better and more flexible than SSD or DrumLab. It also has a really wide array of articulations, depending on the kit, but of course that’s less relevant if you only have 16 pads.

@Robert_Mathijs? Why did you pick AD2?

Yeah it’s the sound of the kits, the price (if you wait for the regular 40 to 50% discounts) and the usability. With AD2 it’s easy for me to get the sound I want and tweak it exactly how I need it. Stuff like transient shaper, resonance shaper, easily linking kit pieces to extra sounds (it’s super easy to give a kickdrum more attack or more low end by layering it with a synthetic kick sound included in AD2).

All of that just makes it great and fast and easy and nice sounding.
