How I configured my XJAM for use in Logic Pro's Drum Machine Designer: Part 1

Background: I already owned Logic Pro (version 10.7.6). Bought an XJAM and wanted to map the contoller as suggested on this site and start learning finger drumming!

Steps to map.
In Logic Pro

  1. Open Logic Pro
  2. Track → New Software Instrument Track
  3. Library → Electronic Drum Kit → Cream Soda
  4. Double Click the Green Icon in the track. Should look like:

In XJAM Editor

  1. Select Configuration Tab
  2. Map the Quest for groove layout to the Logic Pro Sound to the XJAM note. At the end it should look something like:
XJAM_Editor.png - Google Drive. (sorry for the link but new users in this forum can only upload one image per-post)

For example Logic Pro’s “Kick” is expecting note “C1” so I mapped that to pad 34 (but you probably want it for pad 2).
3. Select Save to XJAM.

Most of Logic Pro’s “Drum Machine Designer” kits have similar layout so you can swap out the kit easily.

Result: I didn’t have to buy another piece of software. If wanted I can post my XJAM config.
