Has anyone else run into this in AD2?
When I’m messing around with MIDIpak beats and switch drum kits, sometimes when I go back to the beat the hi-hat just stops sounding. It’s maddening! The only workaround I’ve found is to completely close and reopen AD2.
My guess is that different drum packs have slightly different kit or FX settings, and something gets munged when switching between them.
Has anyone figured out what’s really going on—or found a better fix?
Thanks,
David
I should add that this isn’t a problem when I attempt to strike a note on the high hat with my midi controller. Those always work fine—even after changing drum kits a lot. Rather, I’m listening to the midipak groove to learn from it, and in the playing of the groove by AD2 (when you hit play), the high hat no longer sounds (or sounds irregularly).
That’s a really strange glitch. I have never noticed this before??

I’ll continue to observe the behavior, and if I find a solution, I’ll post it here for posterity.

After much toil and gnashing of teeth, I’ve figured it out.
It makes no sense, but if a sound isn’t controllable with your MIDI controller device (e.g. FGDP-50 or Maschine MK3 hasn’t “learned" it), then it won’t sound when the MidiPak beat plays. This is true even though the beat being played by AD2 (by hitting play in the software) plays to computer speakers (or whatever output) and has nothing to do with your MIDI controller.
This counts not just for mapping e.g. “Snare Open Hit” but for all subtypes of sounds within snare. E.g. “Snare Open hit (dbl)” So you’ve gotta get all subtypes mapped if you want the groove to play correctly.

Ah right… yeah that stuff is always an issue. Glad you figured it out!
