Hey folks,
I’ll often play along to popular music to relax when I’m not actively practicing. There seems to be a very common muted drum sound from the 1970s rock (I gues the duct tape on the heads kinda thing). I’m searching for the best equivalent of that within AD2. Anyone find anything that works well? There’s obviously plenty of drum packs (and I have quite a few of them), but e.g. Vintage Dead is really more about beats and modern EDM/Indie than that 1970s deadened sound. For each kit, there’s 10-20 presents, has anyone gone through these (I have, but still searching for THAT sound).
Thanks!

What about Vintage Dry? That one works for me for the 70s sound.

Holy Moly, that’s it! Somehow I missed them and went straight to Vintage Dead (which is a very cool kit, but definitely not what I was looking for in this case). Looks like XLN is getting another 88 bucks.
Thank you,
David

If you can, wait for a sale. They usually discount around 40% multiple times per year although they have also increased full price within the last 12 months from $79 to $89. I got Vintage Dead for $31.60 (down from $79) in one of their sales. They don’t usally go that hard, I think that was Black Friday 2024.
Also, if you think you might want others, consider getting another Collection. Value might depend of whether you like using midi beats or not, but even for 3 ADpaks, it’s usually cheaper in a collection. I didn’t do that last time as I already had the XL collection, but they are slowly releasing new ADpaks and you don’t have to pick all items in a Collection at the same time. You can leave them as “credits” on your account until you’re ready.

XLN may as well have my Debit Card pin number…
Many thanks,
