Abbey Road Setup in the Maschine

Hello,
I want to share with you how I set up Abbey Road Drums in the Maschine

  1. Add sound for pad 1: Native Instruments > Kontakt VST > Abbey Road 60 Drummer > AR 60s Late Kit Full

  2. For the pad 2 select Midi Output to Destination S1 (it’s the pad 1 actually) and Transpose it to 0
It will allow you to play a kick on pad 2

  3. For the pad 3 select Midi Output to Destination S1 and Transpose it to -24 (minus 24)
It will allow you to play a kick variation on pad 3

  4. Same for other pads, except you have to transpose them to other numbers (it changes the sound of the pad)

Here is my setup to match Robert’s scheme (pad/transpose):
1 / nothing
2 / 0
3 / -24
4 / -27
5 / 1
6 / -22
7 / -21
8 / 1
9 / -16
10 / 18
11 / 16
12 / -7
13 / -17
14 / -15
15 / -13
16 / -8

Thanks for this guys. I used a mixture of Robert’s method (using note values to program which sound) and Zoltes’ method for configuring the MIDI. Zoltes’ method of using Transpose for the note value works fine, but the Abbey Road documentation gives the data in key name format directly.

It all works fine, and is not as scary as it sounds!
