I have been following the lessons for a couple of weeks now. Besides the classes, I have been playing for fun Lenny Kravitz’s “Are you gonna go my way”. Probably because it’s a familiar song to me and I can “sing” the drums by memory. I’d say it has a simple pattern to practice (actually, with some things that were explained later in “Grooving and improving” course), but it has some challenges too. The only downside, is that the tempo is bit fast, and can be tiring on your arms to play for long.
I have found that AC/DC’s “Black in Black” and “Hell’s Bells” are similar with a slower tempo, so I will probably practice one of them soon (I found some drum tabs of all these songs too, which can help).
I’m curious to know what are you guys playing for fun & practice? Any recommendation that you like that it’s not too complex? Particularly, jazz or funk (although I’m aware that jazz tends to be rhythmically more complex).
