Trying to setup maschine mk3

These are only parameters that gave decent sound. It looks strange to see windows audio.
Am I doing sth wrong?
Also where I could find control panel for Mk3?
And another question, I tried to drag presets (since I bought drum packs), but nothing happens. What should I expect or do to use them efficiently?

I don’t have an mk3 so I can’t answer that part, but for AD2:

  • I’m not sure that the “audio device type” issue is related to the mk3. Is there an ASIO option? If yes and you select it, you should have some sort of ASIO driver in devices. I will assume that you don’t have an external sound card, so this will be most probably ASIO4ALL, or some other driver that emulates the real ASIO environment (in my case, I have FL Studio ASIO as well). If you don’t have even ASIO4ALL - so no ASIO option in the audio device type, then I recommend you to install ASIO4ALL; it’s free. Not just for standalone AD2, but you will need some ASIO for the DAW of your choice to work properly (but some DAWs install their own ASIO/ASIO4ALL automatically).

  • If we are talking about drumkit presets, then you have to click on “KIT” in AD2, and drag the preset there. If you have the parts for the drumkit, it should load there properly and you should be able to use it. Keep in mind you have to save it for later usage (the floppy icon in AD2). You can load it later in the preset browser (next to the floppy save icon, then selecting “my presets”, you should be able to see/select it). If actually this is what you did… then maybe the pads are not mapped properly, and you either change the pad notes accordingly in the software of mk3, or just remap the pads in AD2 (using the “?” button, I think Rob explained this in the beginner course).

I use Asio drivers too, you can get them for free on their website

Yes the answers are correct! When using Maschkne mk3 as your audio interface you can actually set that as the audio device type instead of windows audio. Then you’re using the Maschine mk3 Asio driver.

This should install automatically when installing machine through Native Access software.

And otherwise the driver for the device is somewhere on this page https://www.native-instruments.com/en/support/downloads/drivers-other-files/

I installed ASIO4ALL and this is what i got. Also tried to reinstall drivers of maschine mk3. There is no option of choosing mk3 with ASIO device. In this case the headphones are not working as well.

Is it possible to accidentally remove audio drivers from the maschine? sorry for dum questions but I really dont have any clue about these things

Here’s a screenshot of what you should see.

This computer was freshly installed last week (windows and all). And then I installed the Maschine software through native access (perhaps install again?) and After that addictive drums and as you can see this is just an option in the device list.

The best option now is to first reinstall all maschine software (so uninstall first and then reinstall).

After that emailing NI and asking them whats wrong is your best bet I think. They might know of recent compatibility things is my guess. Sometimes that happens, right, with a new update of windows that things disappear. And most of the time big companies will know when an issue like that pops up and they might have a fix.

But first try all of the above because as you can see, this is possible!

  • And just to be sure: You are using a big maschine right, not the mikro
