Hey Rene, I have not experienced this myself and not heard from others with this problem, so in this case I don’t thin I can help out quickly.
Someone here might know the answer, but I can recommend also sending an email to the Steven Slate People. That way you’ll get your answer quickly one way or the other.

I have the very same thing at home… we are supposed to see a “open” button ? I was thinking it as no stand alone feature and delete the whole thing from my computer.
… as well as AD2 free that is not usable with a midi controller.
I think you do need to use Steven Slate as a plugin in your DAW. Don’t know if it is also completely standalone.
