Practice / Learning whilst waiting to get drum pads

I’m yet to get drum pads and may not be able to for quite a few months; any thoughts on things I could practice/learn whilst waiting to get them please? Was thinking I could maybe just tap along to songs on my desk and maybe even draw a 4x4 pad layout and aim for where the specific pads would be. Don’t know how transferable that would be or the lack of audio feedback on what I’m “playing”

I do have a mini keyboard I can use to trigger drums in EZdrummer 3, but not sure that would be a good idea if I don’t intend on sticking with a keyboard.

I also have electric guitar and bass that I play but I’m not playing that much at the moment due to a shoulder issue.

Hey a great thing to do would be to quickly check out this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nyOM4Hmkh-M

This is a great exercise to do to train your hands.

Thanks Rob, great video. Definitely going to give it a try. Had a quick go in my car just tapping my leg.

Between this and playing bass or guitar (single note patterns), I definitely struggle keeping time with irregular or syncopated rhythm. I’m ok when strumming chords as my hand doesn’t really stop, it just misses the strings if I’m not playing the note.
