Hi, I’d like to share my beat-making and FD practice videos with you, but I’d like to do it chronologically.
In the first video (September 2024), I chopped The Dells sample and tried finger drumming to it. But I need to admit that the hardest part was recording it and syncing video with audio
2 months after starting my finger drumming adventure I posted this one

End of January Finger Drumming Improvisation
@Robert_Mathijs I’ll be grateful for feedback on my triplets exercise
First of all, great to see your progress over time. You seem to have started with some experience, at least that’s what I’m hearing.
The main thing to keep focusing on (for everybody and you’re not exception) is to smoothly go from a beat into a fill and back. Probably while counting out loud. That’s the stuff that so hard to do, so working on it regularly over the course of years will slowly but surely make you this unstoppable groove master
Your baseline flow of beats sounds great already!
So the triplets: I think there might be some struggle with the sensitivity of the pads here. They don’t respond well to those soft touches and that would make the light bounce very hard to do.
You seem to fully understand what’s required. This does seem to be largely a hardware issue and not a skill or technique thing per se.

Yes, I had experience because I started finger drumming with your free lessons
Before I recorded my first video, I trained a lot.
Counting is helping a lot, and I need to concentrate on it to achieve better timing.
I’m glad about what I have achieved so far.
Indeed, the sensitivity of the pads on my MPC 1000 is not appropriate for dynamic finger drumming, and sometimes, I think I need to work harder to achieve good results with soft touches. I need to test MASCHINE or MPC Live 2.
Thank you for every piece of advice!
Have a great day.
