I uses Maschine Mikro Mk3 and rencently realized that I get smaller velocity only when I hit the center of each pad. For example, the velocity is 15~20 when I hit the center of the pad while I get 30~40 when I hit the corner with almost same strength.
I’m not sure if it is normal Mikro Mk3 behavior, or unit-specific issue. Does anyone observe similar behavior with Mikro Mk3?
Don’t think I’ve noticed that but I can check next time I’m playing. I’m not often looking at the velocity curve. I’m sure I sometimes get inconsistencies though. Can’t recall if I’ve turned after touch off for all pads - I think that was causing me issues.
What’s weird about this is that this is a known issue with the PreSonus Atom controller, where the sides are more sensitive. With the mikro mk3 I have not experienced it.
Have you messed around with velocity sensitivity in the settings? You can try moving the slider a little and see if that improves things?
Usually if all pads are the same that means you’re not dealing with a faulty unit but… I’m not sure yet. This is a new issue to me.
@Robert_Mathijs Yup, I’ve tried changing sensitivity settings left and right but didn’t see any improvements on this issue.
Good to know that this is not a common issue with Mikro mk3. Maybe it would be worthwhile to try another unit then.
Good to know. I’d checked with mine inside Addictive Drums and didn’t really notice any significant differences between the edge and inside. Any difference was possibly coming from the slightly different feel you get between the two.
