Has anybody tried applying the Quest for Groove lessons to a device like a Zendrum? I have a Zendrum LT and I’m just starting on the Beginner course and so far so good. I’m just wondering if the non-rectilinear layout is going to cause me problems later on. Thanks for any insights.
Cheers,
Rick.
The Zendrum LT is shaped like this…
Here’s how I have it set up at present
It seems to work pretty well so far

Rick.

Ah yes it might be a little difficult with some diagrams but I’m actually working on providing each lesson with advanced “left to right” notation (more similar to regular drum notation) as well so those patterns can be used to play on other devices.
question: do you notice any latency with the zendrum??
Thanks, Rob. After a little practice I’m not having too much trouble mapping the diagrams in my head.
No, not at all. I have a Push 2 and a MPD32 and find the Zendrum at least as good for latency and much better for sensitivity.

Alright, I did notice it when testing it out together with the “stompblock” but maybe when using it as a midi controller the latency gets less, which would mean the latency is actually inside the stompblock which would make sense to me.
Makes me glad I didn’t get a Stompblock!
