Tapping noise level differences with different pad controllers?

Hello everyone,

I have neighbors with pretty sensitive ears apparently. I’m looking to buy a new pad controller anyways, and since I really like not making a ton of noise, I was wondering if there are meaningful differences between, lets say the Launchpad X and the mikro mk3 in terms of the tapping noises they create during finger drumming etc.

Does anyone here have any insight into this? Im currently still using my PadKontrol, and it can definitly be heard through walls etc., partly because it isnt super sensitive I think so I need to hit it pretty hard, but I havent compared yet…

In my experience there is not a huge difference. I do think the PadKontrol is a little xtra noisy somehow. The Maschine mikro mk3 will make less sound. But… it’s never zero. The best way to counter it is probably to wear headphones. I personally make sure my speakers are playing at an adequate volume… 75 db or so. So not damaging, but also not quiet.
