Hey everybody.
I just released my first song featuring finger drumming. These drums are played with Superior Drummer on a Presonus Atom pad controller. They were first just intended to be a guide for a real drummer but eventually decided to keep them as I was very happy with how they turned out. Let me know what you think.

Amazing. I knew this was possible because I did this myself, but it really makes me so happy to hear these drums knowing that you just used finger drumming and decided to keep your demo tracks.
These drums sound great, they sound real, sincere and energetic. That’s what a song like this needs and it just worked out perfectly!

Hey Rob, thanks for your comment! It’s cool how the pad layout can inspire new type of grooves. I can play a lil bit of drums but I don’t think I would have come up with a ride pattern like this if I sat behind a real drum kit. It’s just so much fun to jam around on the pad controller until I find something that feels right. Everything on this song was recorded in my home “studio” which is just a room in my apartment.

I know this post is four years old but I just had to say that the song came out great. Nice mix too. It’s cool that you know it’s more than possible to use finger drumming as the source for your drum tracks. It’s sooo much more fun and efficient to play on the pad controller than keys. Great job Simon! It’s got to feel good to have a finished product made the way you did it!
