When finishing a beat, what’s the purpose of playing the “1” of the next round?
For example:
1 & 2 & 3 & 4 & 1 → Stop beat/counting.
I realise it sounds nice and kind of completes the “thought”.
Is that all there is to it?
Yeah, that’s all. Usually if you end a song it also ends on the one. You usually don’t stop on the last beat of the bar. It’s like a period at the end of a sentence
