Happy thoughts!

I’ve recently finished the Grooving and Improving course and have just started Easy, Awesome and Real. I find that Happy is really quite hard to play at tempo, certainly the most difficult thing so far in any of the courses I have done. Anyone else find this? It’s really great to play with but hard to keep it going, especially with the claps.

Hey Marcus,

In my experience you will sometimes encounter a pattern that just does not come natural to you. It is hard to predict what that is sometimes. If you love the song this might motivate you to keep trying but from a progress perspective I would:

  • Slow it down and just not play at full tempo
  • Accept that it is a little crappy and just have fun for a while
  • Move on and come back in 3 months and see if it works all of a sudden.

The Hit the gym course will help with all patterns in terms of coordination and technique.

Thanks Robert. I actually came to grips with this song a while after posting this. I’m now working on the Ramones track, which is also pretty hard to play at the right tempo! Good practice though so I’ll keep at it. :slightly_smiling_face:
