Hi, is anyone aware of decent software for Linux?
I possess both a Win10 copy and a Mac but as I am understanding using Ubuntu Studio with an RT kernel should allow me to get away with good latency without buying a dedicated audio interface. I am not at all a pro and I own an Akai MPK mini II which I would like to use but I could not find good software to hook it up to.
The best I could find right now is hydrogen with drumgizmo. I don’t min paying for relatively budget but good software, so I am open to suggestions.
There are also some free Drum plugins that work in Reaper. I sometimes use MTPowerDrumkit2.
An external audio interface can be bought from € 29 (Behringer UM2, although I would recommend the UMC22 which is a little more expensive) although there might be even cheaper products out there.
Yeah I had in mind to check Reaper. It seems an overkill for now but is certainly more than decent. MTPoweDrumkit2 seems legit. I will check them out.
If I can get away with no dedicated interface I would prefer that for now instead of buying something that I know I will replace eventually.
