I have had a lifelong love of music and was once awarded a full ride music scholarship only to change my mind after a year of matriculation. I am an avid learner. I received an associates degree in accounting in 1990. I have owned my own business, Davis Insurance Agency, Inc since April 1, 1997 after having worked at the agency for six years prior. I hold a real estate brokers license for at least as many years.

My ultimate goal is to increase my music knowledge in order to be able to teach my lifelong love to others (although not as a band director). I have plans to “retire” full time into a music career at the age of 60 and continue on for as long as I can.

In addition to music and Ableton Live: Cooking, grilling and smoking food. Attending renaissance fairs with my lovely wife. Playing with our standard poodles, Ryker and Daisy. Spending time with family and friends. Currently I am also learning various programs such as DaVinci Resolve to develop online teaching skills.

One of the greatest compliments I have ever received was earlier this year (2024) when a high school friend thanked me for guitar “lessons (haha)” I taught him in high school. I was honored that he is in a touring band and doing quite well.

For years, much to my chagrin, I dropped out of music due to carpal tunnel only to ultimately discover that playing instruments was not the cause.
